Traditional saunas use wood stoves or heaters which heat the air, mainly via convection, to 85 degrees. Far infrared saunas, however, heat the air to approximately 55 degrees, which makes the experience more relaxing. Infrared heaters use a wavelength around 10 micrometers that is able to penetrate tissues more deeply than warm air, up to 3-5cm.
Occupants are able to develop a more vigorous sweat at a lower temperature than traditional saunas. Research show that FIRS may help to reduce blood sugar, reduce blood pressure, improve cardiovascular health, aid in killing chronic infections, and reducing inflammation associated with arthritis.
Sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes.
Towels, robes, water, relaxing music, and a shower.
Each session is $25.00, or sign up for a $60.00/month unlimited sauna use membership.
